قد يفترض البعض أن استخدام بطاقات هدايا أبل ستور ممكناً ضمن تطبيق Apple Store على iOS، ولكن حتى وقت قريب جداً لم يكن الأمر ممكناً بالفعل.
حيث كانت بطاقات هدايا أبل متاحة فقط للاستخدام ضمن متاجر أبل للبيع بالتجزئة، أو من خلال موقع أبل على الإنترنت. ولكن هذا تغير أخيراً في التحديث الأخير للتطبيق، والذي يرفعه للنسخة 3.4. والآن، أصبح بإمكان مستخدمي iOS استخدام بطاقات هدايا أبل ستور الحالية ضمن Passbook، أو استخدام الكاميرا الخاصة بهم لمسح البطاقة ضوئياً لاستخدامها ضمن تطبيق Apple Store.
